Chloe Fineman, Tate McRae and Ava certainly made a style statement at the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday night - but for all the wrong reasons.
While attending one of the most talked about one of pop culture's biggest nights of the years, these performers failed to impress in some bizarre looks, featuring puzzling cut-outs, odd fabric choices and flashing a tacky amount of flesh.
Despite most celebrities opting for racy, barely-there dresses, Fineman, 34, looked like she showed up in a long padded dress that resembled a metallic silver sleeping bag with a voluminous skirt and dramatic train.
Worst dressed: Chloe Fineman, Tate McRae and Ava Max certainly made a style statement at the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday night - but for all the wrong reasons
She paired the strange gown with silver nails, holographic sandals and her blonde hair in a messy bun as if she opted to hit the snooze button a few times before finally making her way to the ceremony.
Her funky outfit, which is part of threeASFOUR's Cart Couture collection, featured interactive jelly bean-shaped clutches that held snack items (like chips, candy and dried fruit) for her to share with fellow attendees due to the VMAs' 'no outside food.'
Almost immediately her odd look began spurring comparisons to Lizzie McGuire's igloo dress from Disney Channel Original Movie's 2003 film Lizzie McGuire Movie, starring Hilary Duff, and a duvet cover on Twitter.
Meanwhile, McRae, the 19-year-old Canadian singer behind the chart-topping hits you broke me first and she's all i wanna be, bared way too much skin in her plunging aqua blue dress with a very daring slit.
Yikes: Almost immediately her odd look began spurring comparisons to Lizzie McGuire's igloo dress from Disney Channel Original Movie's 2003 film Lizzie McGuire Movie, starring Hilary Duff, on Twitter
Baring all: The Canadian singer, 19, flashed plenty of skin at the event
Oh no: Ava Max's bright green look seemed to casual for the big night

Her backless minidress even included a massive cut-out across her incredible toned stomach.
Conan Gray opted to leave his shirt at home and wear just a white jacket, black pants and silver platform heels.
DJ Diamond Kuts was not dressing her age as she showed up with a crystal bear purse and face gems.

A bit childish: DJ Diamond Kuts was not dressing her age as she showed up with a crystal bear purse and face gems
The 2022 MTV Video Music Awards are being held at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.
One of the biggest honors of the night will go to Nicki Minaj, who will be honored with the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award.
The 39-year-old rap megastar will be presented with the highly-coveted trophy that is given to recording artists for outstanding contributions and profound impact on music video and popular culture.
Nicki will also be performing a medley of some of her greatest hits influenced by her catalogue of music videos.
Rock legends the Red Hot Chili Peppers will also perform as they are to be honored with the Global Icon Award.
Boring: Camille Kostek opted for a boring getup, consisting of a jean jacket and black pants
The recognition celebrates 'an artist or band whose unparalleled career, continued impact and influence have maintained a unique level of global success in music and beyond, leaving an indelible mark on the music landscape.'
As for the regular awards, there is a three-way tie for most nominations between Lil Nas X, Kendrick Lamar, and Jack Harlow.
The three hip-hop acts are followed closely by Doja Cat and Harry Styles who received six nods each.
There is quite the field among those nominated for five awards as that list includes: Billie Eilish, Drake, Dua Lipa, Ed Sheeran, Taylor Swift and The Weeknd.
The most nominated group or duo were K-pop sensations BTS who earned four.
MTV expanded the number of nominees for its top award, video of the year, to seven for the very first time in its 39-year history.
Over-the-top: Justina Valentine was the epitome of gaudy in her over-the top outfit
Too much: The Wild 'N Out star wore a colorful jumpsuit

Bad Bunny is the first ever Latin artist to be nominated for artist of the year as he will face Ed Sheeran, Drake, Styles, Harlow, Lil Nas X, and Lizzo.
There is also the video for good category which is for the best video with a message as the nominees include Kendrick Lamar - The Heart Part 5, Latto - P****, Lizzo - About Damn Time, Rina Sawayama - This Hell. and Stromae - Fils de joie.
